Taylor Frankie Paul has reached a new milestone in her three-year legal journey, announcing that she has officially completed her probation stemming from her 2023 domestic violence case. In an Instagram post, the The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star wrote, "Three years probation complete." She shared that a Utah judge had officially ruled her probation successfully completed.

Paul also revealed that several of her probation officers told her it was one of the longest probation periods they had seen for a first-time offender. "All my PO’s said it was one of the longest probations they had seen for first time offense. Back then I wasn’t even aware of what DV was. Unfortunately many will experience it as many already have." She was referring to the incident involving her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, whom she was dating at the time.
In 2023, Taylor Frankie Paul pleaded guilty to assault as part of a plea agreement, which resulted in the dismissal of child abuse charges. After successfully fulfilling all the terms of her sentence, a judge agreed to reduce her aggravated assault felony conviction to a Class A misdemeanor and officially ended her probation.
Reflecting on her experience, the reality star wrote, "DV is a sneaky cycle to get stuck in because by the time you realize what actually is happening you’re already stuck in it." According to Paul, domestic violence can become a cycle that many people fail to recognize until they are deeply trapped in it.

Taylor Frankie Paul also addressed the criticism she has faced since the incident. "I don’t care if you see me as the villain or victim. This all surfacing the way it viciously and vindictively did, has been hell on earth and if I didn’t have the support I have I don’t think I would have made it through." She described the past three years as "hell on earth," saying she would not have survived the ordeal without the support of those closest to her.
She concluded her post by writing, "However those same people not only get to see they failed to destroy me, but they freed me. You can see who’s educated from the not… this has been by the textbook for millions to watch." Alongside her message, Paul shared a carousel of photos taken throughout her various court appearances over the past three years, symbolically closing one of the most difficult chapters of her life.
A source close to the situation described the end of Taylor's probation as "a positive development and step in the right direction on Taylor's healing journey." Meanwhile, Dakota Mortensen's representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding her latest statements.

Nevertheless, the events of 2023 resurfaced earlier this year after footage of the altercation between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen was released in March. The video appeared to show Paul throwing metal stools while her daughter Indy was nearby, reigniting public discussion surrounding the case.
Following the incident, Taylor temporarily lost custody of her son Ever, whom she shares with Mortensen, and both parties were issued protective orders. Shortly afterward, ABC canceled plans for her participation in The Bachelorette, dealing another significant setback to her television career.
In addition to Ever, Taylor Frankie Paul shares two children—Indy and Ocean—with her ex-husband, Tate Paul. Since the end of their marriage, co-parenting and custody arrangements have repeatedly become the subject of legal disputes.

Earlier this summer, according to a source familiar with the matter, both Dakota Mortensen and Tate Paul proposed custody arrangements that would have allowed Taylor approximately 40% parenting time. However, she reportedly declined both proposals almost immediately.
The source claimed Taylor believed the offers were not genuinely motivated by her children's best interests. She reportedly responded, "So now I’m suddenly capable of parenting 40% of the time? Couldn’t be more obvious what this is really about—and it isn’t the safety or well-being of our children."
According to the insider, Taylor Frankie Paul believes Dakota Mortensen and her ex-husband Tate Paul have coordinated legal efforts against her. Even so, she continues preparing for future court proceedings and remains confident she will have the opportunity to defend her position.
The same source added that the reality television personality has been steadily rebuilding her life following years of personal turmoil. While her future with The Bachelorette remains uncertain, Taylor has reportedly received considerable support online, particularly from women who have experienced similar situations.
Earlier this year, Tate Paul filed for sole custody of their children. However, a judge quickly denied his request for a restraining order. Around the same time, another source revealed that Taylor had voluntarily checked into a treatment facility on her doctor's recommendation and remained committed to improving both her mental health and personal life.

Born in 1994, Taylor Frankie Paul first rose to prominence on TikTok as one of the leading personalities behind #MomTok, a community of content-creating mothers with millions of followers. Her candid discussions about marriage, motherhood, and everyday life quickly established her as one of the platform's most recognizable influencers.
Her profile grew even further after she publicly revealed that members of the #MomTok community had participated in "soft swinging," a form of partner swapping with agreed-upon boundaries between married couples. The revelation sparked widespread controversy across social media and fueled public feuds among several members of the group. Those highly publicized events later became the foundation for Hulu's reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, in which Taylor emerged as one of its central figures.
While the series significantly expanded her public profile, it also coincided with a series of personal setbacks. Her divorce from Tate Paul, her on-again, off-again relationship with Dakota Mortensen, ongoing custody disputes, and the domestic violence case all contributed to making her one of reality television's most polarizing personalities. At the same time, many supporters believe she has been making a genuine effort to rebuild her life following years of controversy.

Although completing her probation does not bring an end to every legal and personal challenge Taylor Frankie Paul continues to face, it represents a significant turning point. As she works to rebuild her personal life, continue her career, and resolve ongoing custody disputes, the reality star appears determined to move forward from one of the most turbulent chapters of her life.
