Meghan Markle and Prince Harry once again drew public attention as they attended the 40th anniversary gala of The David Foster Foundation in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In a video Meghan shared on Instagram, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked through a corridor lined with Scottish bagpipers, creating a rare lighthearted moment during one of their public appearances.

As they entered the venue, Meghan smiled and told the musicians, "My husband loves bagpipes!" Continuing past the performers, she added with obvious excitement, "Oh my god, this is amazing!"

Prince Harry quickly joined in the fun. Joking with the musicians, he asked, "Where are mine?" before playfully insisting that he could play both "pipes and drums," adding another cheerful moment to the evening.

The video later showcased highlights from inside the gala, including an edible piano decorated with musical notes and glimpses of the evening's concert program. The event celebrated the 40th anniversary of The David Foster Foundation, established by legendary music producer David Foster in 1986 to provide financial assistance for Canadian families whose children require life-saving organ transplants while also promoting organ donation awareness across Canada and the United States.

For the occasion, Meghan Markle wore a black one-shoulder gown by Canadian fashion house Greta Constantine. She completed the elegant look with her hair styled in an updo, drawing attention to the diamond-and-sapphire earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. Meghan has worn the iconic earrings on several important occasions as a tribute to her late mother-in-law.

In addition to the sapphire earrings, Meghan also owns several other pieces from Princess Diana's jewelry collection, including the butterfly earrings and matching bracelet, a diamond tennis bracelet, a Cartier Tank Louis watch, and Diana's famous emerald-cut aquamarine ring, which was originally gifted to the late Princess by her close friend Lucia Flecha de Lima in 1996.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry opted for a classic black tuxedo with a bow tie, complementing his wife's sophisticated look. During the evening, the couple posed for photographs alongside 16-time Grammy Award winner David Foster and his wife, actress and singer Katharine McPhee.

David Foster and Katharine McPhee have maintained a close friendship with the Sussexes for years. The couples have been photographed together on multiple occasions, including private gatherings and double dates.

Back in 2019, following Meghan and Harry's decision to step back from royal duties and relocate to North America, David Foster helped arrange accommodations for them at a secluded waterfront mansion on Vancouver Island. At the time, he told the Daily Mail, "I felt honoured that I was able to help Meghan there because I'm a Canadian, and we're a Commonwealth country – we're the Crown's. It's important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment. I was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off."

Katharine McPhee has also spoken publicly about the close relationship between her husband and Prince Harry. During a 2020 interview, she shared, "They're so cute. They're like father and son. We just stay in touch with them. But mostly, Meghan and I knew each other from childhood, but really Harry and my husband are friends. It's really nice."

Born Rachel Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex built a successful acting career before joining the British royal family. She became internationally recognized for portraying Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits, appearing on the series for seven seasons. After marrying Prince Harry in 2018, she stepped away from acting to assume her role as a senior member of the Royal Family.

That chapter of their lives changed dramatically in early 2020 when Meghan and Harry announced they would step back as senior working royals. The couple subsequently relocated to California, where they have built a new life with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, while expanding their media and charitable initiatives through Archewell.

Over the past several years, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained among the world's most talked-about public figures. Their headline-making interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, and Prince Harry's bestselling memoir Spare all offered their perspective on life within the Royal Family while also generating widespread debate and media attention.

Alongside those media projects, Meghan has gradually returned to the lifestyle space. She launched her brand As Ever, expanded into podcasting, and resumed sharing personal moments on Instagram after years away from social media. Her appearance at David Foster's gala reflects her increasing participation in public events alongside Prince Harry.

Meghan's cheerful remark, "My husband loves bagpipes!," along with the couple's playful exchange with the Scottish musicians, quickly gained attention across social media. Although the interaction lasted only a few moments, it offered another glimpse into the relaxed dynamic between Meghan and Harry as they continue navigating life together following years of significant personal changes and ongoing scrutiny surrounding their relationship with the British Royal Family.
