Tom Holland delivered one of the funniest moments of the evening while attending the New York premiere of The Odyssey. During a red carpet interview, the actor was asked to compare his iconic Spider-Man with Batman, portrayed by his The Odyssey costar Robert Pattinson.

When asked, “What do you think Batman has over Spider-Man?” Holland didn’t hesitate before giving a confident response.
Laughing, the actor replied, “I’d say nothing. If anything, Batman just has more money than Spider-Man. That’s about it, to be honest.” The lighthearted remark quickly caught fans’ attention, showcasing both Holland’s humor and his affection for the superhero he has portrayed for the past decade.
Although clearly made in jest, Holland’s answer also highlights one of the biggest differences between the two legendary comic book heroes. While Spider-Man possesses genuine superhuman abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider, Batman is an ordinary human who relies on his intelligence, combat skills, years of training, and Bruce Wayne’s enormous fortune to fight crime.

Spider-Man has also benefited from advanced technology developed by Tony Stark within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, his greatest strengths remain his enhanced physical abilities, incredible agility, lightning-fast reflexes, and his famous “Spider-Sense,” which warns him of danger before it strikes. These differences have fueled endless debates between Marvel and DC fans for decades.
Tom Holland officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016 with his debut as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. Still in his early twenties at the time, he quickly earned praise for bringing a youthful, witty, and comic-accurate version of Spider-Man to the big screen.
He went on to headline Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and especially Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. The film became one of Marvel’s biggest cinematic events by bringing together three generations of Spider-Man—Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield—in the same movie.

Spider-Man’s story is far from over. The next installment, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled for release at the end of July and will continue exploring Peter Parker’s life after the events of the previous film, in which the entire world forgot his true identity.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson first stepped into the cape and cowl in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, released in 2022. His darker, more emotionally complex interpretation of Bruce Wayne received widespread praise from both critics and audiences.
The sequel, The Batman Part II, is currently in development and is expected to be released in 2028. Although they belong to two completely separate cinematic universes, Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson have now shared the screen as cast members of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
The project marks the first time two actors best known for portraying two of the world’s most iconic superheroes have appeared together in a major feature film. Their interactions during interviews and on the red carpet have delighted fans eager to see the pair collaborate.
Tom Holland has previously revealed that Robert Pattinson became something of a “safety blanket” for him during the filming of The Odyssey. According to Holland, Pattinson helped create a relaxed atmosphere on set and made him feel more comfortable while working alongside such an accomplished ensemble cast.
Born in London in 1996, Tom Holland began his career on the stage before gaining international recognition through The Impossible in 2012. Starring alongside Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, his acclaimed performance established him as one of Britain’s most promising young actors.

The biggest turning point of his career came in 2015 when Marvel selected him to play Spider-Man after an extensive worldwide casting search involving thousands of aspiring actors. Since then, Holland has become inseparable from the beloved superhero and one of Hollywood’s brightest young stars.
Outside of acting, Tom Holland’s personal life has also attracted considerable public interest. He and Zendaya confirmed their relationship after years of working together on the Spider-Man films. Although the couple keeps their romance largely private, they continue to enjoy overwhelming support from fans around the world.
Unlike many actors of his generation, Holland has largely avoided major controversies. He is widely respected for his friendly personality, professionalism, and quick wit during interviews. Many of his humorous moments have gone viral online, with his latest comparison between Spider-Man and Batman quickly becoming another fan favorite.

Although a crossover between Marvel’s Spider-Man and DC’s Batman is highly unlikely because the characters belong to different studios, Tom Holland’s playful response has once again delighted superhero fans. In his eyes, Spider-Man has nothing to envy Batman—except perhaps Bruce Wayne’s extraordinary fortune, something Peter Parker has never had.
