After weeks of reports suggesting the trip had been canceled over security concerns, Meghan Markle is now expected to travel to the United Kingdom with her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to reunite with Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly changed her original plans and will arrive in London with the children, marking Archie and Lilibet’s first visit to the UK in approximately four years.

However, sources say Meghan will not take part in any public engagements during the visit. As a result, she is not expected to accompany Prince Harry to the Invictus Games event. Instead, the trip is believed to focus on private family matters.
According to reports, one of the family’s most significant stops will be Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire, the final resting place of Princess Diana. Harry is said to want Archie and Lilibet to visit their grandmother’s grave so they can better understand their family heritage and the woman who had the greatest influence on his life.
In addition, Harry and Meghan are reportedly trying to arrange for their children to meet King Charles III, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. However, sources emphasize that no meeting has been confirmed, and discussions are still ongoing.
Earlier reports suggested that the Sussex family had nearly abandoned plans to bring Archie and Lilibet to Britain after Prince Harry lost his legal battle to secure publicly funded police protection during visits to the UK. A source previously told The Guardian that Harry was “distraught” by the decision and did not want his children to be “chased by paparazzi wherever they go from the moment they step off the plane.”
The source added, “If he can find a way to do that, he will.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s spokesperson previously claimed that another obstacle surrounding the trip involved accommodation. According to Harry’s team, King Charles III had initially offered him a place to stay at Buckingham Palace but later withdrew the invitation after Harry had accepted it. Nevertheless, the Duke of Sussex’s representative said he continues to “explore every available option” to ensure Meghan and their children can travel to the UK safely.

A royal source also suggested that the chances of Archie and Lilibet meeting King Charles III would be greater if Meghan accompanies the trip.
These developments come as Prince Harry has already arrived in Britain to attend the premiere of his close friend Misan Harriman’s documentary Shoot the People while also participating in promotional events for the 2027 Invictus Games, which are scheduled to take place in Birmingham. However, the visit has not been without setbacks. Harry recently lost his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of the Daily Mail, over allegations that the company had unlawfully obtained his private information.
Since stepping down as senior working members of the British royal family in 2020 and relocating to California, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have remained among the world’s most closely watched public figures. The couple have built a new life through a series of commercial partnerships, including projects with Netflix and Spotify, alongside their own media, charitable, and business ventures. Meghan has also returned to lifestyle projects, expanding her personal brand while sharing more glimpses into family life.

Despite the passage of time, the relationship between the Sussexes and the British royal family has yet to fully recover. Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, the couple’s documentary series, and several high-profile interviews have further widened the rift between Harry, King Charles III, and Prince William. Even so, with growing public concern over the King’s health, many continue to hope that this visit could provide an opportunity for the family to begin rebuilding their relationship—particularly if Archie and Lilibet are able to reunite with their grandfather after years apart.
