Contestant Alannah Keyser will no longer appear on Love Island USA Season 8. Peacock confirmed the decision following Episode 20, bringing the newcomer’s brief journey on the dating series to an abrupt end just days after she entered the Casa Amor villa.

The 21-year-old was introduced to viewers during the June 21 episode as one of the new Casa Amor bombshells, a group of contestants brought in to shake up the existing relationships. However, shortly after making her debut, Keyser found herself at the center of controversy when an old video resurfaced on social media.
The clip allegedly shows Alannah singing along to Roddy Ricch’s 2019 hit The Box. While singing the lyrics, she appeared to use the N-word, a racial slur widely recognized as one of the most offensive and controversial terms in the English language. The video quickly sparked widespread backlash, with many viewers calling on the show to take action against the contestant.
According to publicly available information, Alannah is currently a full-time film student at the University of Southern California. Before joining the reality series, she primarily built her online presence as a content creator and model, cultivating a youthful image while pursuing opportunities in the entertainment industry.
Her departure comes as Love Island USA Season 8 continues to face scrutiny over contestants’ past social media activity.

Earlier this season, contestant Vasana Montgomery was also removed from the show after old videos resurfaced that appeared to show her using the N-word. Following her exit, Montgomery issued a public apology on Instagram Stories.
“I want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently resurfaced. In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry. I am embarrassed and disappointed by my words.”
She continued:
“I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people.”
Montgomery went on to explain that she had “grown a lot as a person” since the videos were recorded and had taken the time to educate herself, listen, and better understand the impact language can have.

“That growth does not erase my mistake, and I am not asking anyone to excuse it. I believe people should be held accountable for their actions, but I also believe in growth, learning, and becoming better.”
She concluded her statement by writing:
“To anyone I hurt or disappointed, I am truly sorry.”
The succession of controversies has once again raised questions among viewers about the show’s casting process and background screening procedures before contestants appear on television. Many have pointed out that in today’s social media landscape, content shared years earlier can easily resurface and significantly affect both participants and production companies.
This is not the first time Love Island USA has faced such an issue. During Season 7, contestant Yulissa Escobar left the series after old podcast clips resurfaced showing her using the N-word. She later issued a public apology, acknowledging her mistake.
Later in the season, Cierra Ortega also became the subject of controversy after past social media posts containing racial slurs targeting Chinese people resurfaced online. Following intense backlash from viewers, Ortega exited the show between episodes. Her departure was explained on-air only as being due to a “personal situation.” She later addressed the allegations in an Instagram video, acknowledging the controversy and apologizing publicly.
As for Alannah Keyser, Peacock has not offered any further comment beyond confirming that she will no longer appear on the series. The contestant herself has yet to release a public statement regarding the resurfaced video.
Although her time on Love Island USA was brief, Alannah had been regarded as one of Casa Amor’s standout newcomers because of her striking appearance. Before joining the show, she worked as a model and content creator while pursuing a degree in film at the University of Southern California, one of the United States’ most prestigious institutions for the arts. Across her social media platforms, she regularly shared glimpses of her daily life, fashion, and academic journey, while expressing her ambition to build a career in the entertainment industry after graduation.

To date, Alannah has not been linked to any major public controversy aside from the resurfaced video. She has also remained relatively private about her personal life and has not publicly confirmed any romantic relationship. As a result, her removal from one of television’s most-watched reality dating shows shortly after her introduction marks the first major setback in her public career.
The incident involving Alannah Keyser underscores the growing scrutiny faced by reality television personalities in the digital age, where past words and actions can quickly be brought back into public view. It also adds to mounting pressure on Love Island USA to strengthen its vetting process in an effort to prevent similar controversies in future seasons.
