Just Days After Ending an 18-Year Marriage, Jenny Mollen Stuns With a Private Text Sent the Very Day Jason Biggs Moved Out.

For nearly two decades, Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs built a relationship that appeared to thrive on honesty, humor and an unconventional approach to marriage. Their candid stories about parenthood, intimacy and everyday life often made headlines, helping them become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable and relatable couples. Even after announcing the end of their 18-year marriage, the pair continue to share aspects of their evolving relationship with the same openness that defined their years together.

That transparency was on full display when Mollen recently revealed an awkward and unexpectedly timed conversation she had with Biggs shortly after the actor moved out following their separation. Speaking during an appearance on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, the actress, author and comedian recalled the uncomfortable circumstances surrounding a text message she felt obligated to send her estranged husband.

“I’m like, oh, f–k, this is crazy because literally, and the timing was horrifying because, okay, Jason was moving out on a Friday and I didn’t mean for it to line up this way,” Mollen explained.

The timing, she admitted, could hardly have been worse. Just as Biggs was beginning a new chapter outside their shared home, Mollen found herself preparing for a medical procedure that she felt she needed to disclose.

“I'm having a vagina surgery. I mean, it looks so bad for me,” she said through laughter.

The procedure in question was a vaginoplasty, and Mollen acknowledged that trying to explain the surgery immediately after a separation created an unfortunate impression.

“I didn’t want to tell him,” she admitted, explaining that the situation felt “shady” and “weird.”

Yet she ultimately felt honesty was necessary.

“I’m going under for two and a half f–king hours. I was like, ‘Make this feel palatable,’ but it was awful,” she recalled.

Despite the awkwardness of the conversation, Mollen managed to find humor in the situation. Looking back, she joked that she at least had one reassuring detail to share with her former husband.

“The one good thing I was able to tell him was, ‘I’m not allowed to have sex for eight weeks.’”

The comedian did not reveal how Biggs reacted to the message, but she noted that the procedure was successful and that everything now looks “even” down below. As has often been the case throughout her public life, Mollen approached a deeply personal subject with a blend of vulnerability and comedy.

The revelation comes just weeks after the former couple announced the end of their marriage. Although the news surprised many fans, representatives for the pair emphasized that the split was amicable and that both remain committed to raising their two sons, Lazlo and Sid.

The focus on co-parenting has become a recurring theme in Mollen’s recent interviews. While discussing life after the separation, she has repeatedly stressed that the bond she shares with Biggs has not disappeared, even if the nature of their relationship has changed.

During an appearance on Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, Mollen offered a surprisingly tender description of their current dynamic.

“We still love each other,” she said.

Rather than describing their relationship as completely over, she suggested it had evolved into something different.

“It’s just not, I don’t know, it’s a different type of romance. It’s, like, your best friend.”

The comment reflected the complexity of a relationship that spanned nearly two decades. Unlike many celebrity breakups that quickly descend into public conflict, Mollen and Biggs appear determined to preserve a sense of partnership for the sake of both their children and the connection they spent years building.

“The relationship is solid,” Mollen said, later describing the pair as “amazing” co-parents.

At the same time, she acknowledged that re-entering single life after such a long marriage has been an adjustment.

“It’s bizarre.”

For someone who spent most of her adult life with the same partner, the transition has inevitably come with moments of uncertainty. Yet Mollen also made it clear that separation has not erased the daily interactions that continue to define their family life.

“People will be like, ‘How does it feel?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know, the same?’” she explained. “We live in two different places, but we’re still tethered. We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone’s schedule and after school and holidays.”

That ongoing connection has roots stretching back nearly twenty years. Mollen and Biggs first met in 2007 while working together on the romantic comedy “My Best Friend’s Girl.” Their relationship moved quickly. By January 2008, they were engaged, and only a few months later they eloped in a private ceremony.

Later that same year, they celebrated again with a vow renewal ceremony in Napa Valley, California. What followed was a marriage that would survive the pressures of Hollywood, parenthood and public scrutiny for nearly two decades.

Throughout those years, the couple developed a unique public identity. Rather than presenting themselves as a flawless Hollywood pair, they often shared messy, funny and occasionally controversial stories from their private lives. Their social media posts became known for their unfiltered honesty, earning both praise and criticism.

Mollen in particular built a reputation for saying what many celebrities would never dare say publicly. Whether discussing motherhood, cosmetic procedures, marriage or personal insecurities, she rarely appeared interested in maintaining a carefully curated image.

That authenticity became a defining element of her career. Beyond acting, Mollen found success as a bestselling author and essayist. Her books, including “I Like You Just the Way I Am” and “Live Fast Die Hot,” showcased the same irreverent humor that made her a compelling public figure. Readers were drawn to her willingness to expose imperfections and laugh at herself along the way.

Biggs, meanwhile, became famous long before meeting Mollen thanks to his breakout role in the “American Pie” franchise. His portrayal of Jim Levenstein turned him into one of the most recognizable comedic actors of his generation. Over the years, he expanded his career through television, film and voice acting projects while maintaining a loyal fan base.

Although both enjoyed successful individual careers, their relationship often became a story in its own right. Interviews frequently featured anecdotes about parenting mishaps, relationship challenges and the realities of balancing marriage with demanding careers.

Of course, not every headline was positive. Over the years, some of Mollen’s social media posts generated backlash, particularly when critics accused her of oversharing details about family life. Yet even during controversies, she rarely retreated from public conversation. Instead, she typically responded with the same candidness that had attracted followers in the first place.

One notable example occurred when intimate family photographs sparked criticism online. Rather than backing down completely, Mollen defended her intentions while acknowledging the different ways people interpret parenting choices. Moments like these reinforced her reputation as someone unwilling to conform to traditional celebrity expectations.

Even as their marriage approached its final chapter, public appearances suggested a couple still deeply connected. In 2025, just one year before their separation became public, Mollen shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to Biggs.

“This is a pic of us at your surprise thirtieth,” she wrote alongside a photograph of the pair.

Reflecting on the early years of their relationship, she added, “We were married and yet I still knew practically nothing about you. Like for example, the fact that you hate surprises. Luckily, we made it past that hurdle. Happy 47th, I promise I planned nothing.”

In hindsight, the post offered a glimpse into the affection and humor that continued to exist between them, even as their relationship evolved behind closed doors.

Today, Mollen and Biggs find themselves navigating a new reality. Their marriage may have ended, but their connection remains deeply intertwined through their children, shared history and enduring friendship. Rather than framing their split as a dramatic ending, both appear committed to viewing it as a transition into a different kind of partnership.

For fans who followed their journey for nearly twenty years, that approach feels fitting. Mollen and Biggs spent much of their relationship redefining expectations around marriage, family and celebrity life. Even now, as they move forward separately, they continue to do so on their own terms—openly, honestly and with the sense of humor that has long defined their story.
