So then I had to go get a brain MRI, and there was a blueberry-sized lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor,” he shared. According to his doctors, the lesion appears to be a glioma, a type of tumor that develops from glial cells in the brain.

Amabile revealed that he is scheduled to undergo a craniotomy in approximately two weeks to remove the tumor, after which the tissue will be tested to determine its exact nature. “I now need to get brain surgery in two weeks to get it removed and get it tested, and then we’re gonna go from there. So it’s been a wild couple weeks. Definitely wasn’t expecting this,” he said.

Although his voice reflected the weight of the diagnosis, Amabile remained composed as he spoke about the unexpected turn in his life. “I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, ‘Oh, something like this will never happen to me’ — and here I am,” he admitted, acknowledging that he never imagined facing a diagnosis like this, especially since he had not experienced any serious symptoms beforehand.
