Jennifer Lopez puts the multi-million-dollar mansion she once shared with Ben Affleck back on the market at a massive loss—inside the secret story behind their breakup that has set Hollywood buzzing.

Jennifer Lopez has re-listed the mansion she once shared with her former husband Ben Affleck, marking yet another turn in the post-divorce unwinding of one of Hollywood’s most closely watched properties. The decision comes as the singer and actress adjusts the asking price once again, signaling a willingness to accept a significant financial loss in order to finally close a chapter tied to her brief marriage to Affleck.

The 56-year-old entertainer is now attempting to sell the estate for approximately $50 million, with the latest listing price set at $49,995,000. This marks the third attempt to place the Beverly Hills property on the market, according to reports, reflecting ongoing challenges in finding a buyer willing to meet earlier valuation expectations.

The mansion, purchased jointly by Lopez and Affleck in May 2023 for $60,850,000, has become a symbol of their short-lived reunion. Despite the optimism surrounding their marriage at the time, the property quickly became part of the logistical and emotional disentanglement that followed their separation.

The couple first listed the home for sale in July 2024, shortly before Lopez filed for divorce. At that stage, the asking price was significantly higher, reflecting both the property’s luxury status and the couple’s initial investment intentions. However, the market response did not meet expectations.

In the months that followed, the listing underwent multiple reductions. Lopez and Affleck initially attempted to sell the estate for nearly $68 million, before gradually lowering the price as interest remained limited. By May 2025, the price had already been reduced by around $8 million, yet the property still failed to secure a buyer.

Affleck, aged 53, formally surrendered his share of the property in early April, further clarifying the financial separation between the two stars. Legal documents later confirmed that the former couple had quietly amended their property settlement, originally filed in January 2025, adjusting responsibilities tied to the eventual sale.

According to those documents, Lopez is now solely responsible for all expenses associated with her share of any future sale, including broker commissions, taxes, and closing costs. The agreement also references a forthcoming transfer of property rights, although specific details remain undisclosed.

The estate itself reflects the scale of Hollywood luxury at its peak. Spanning approximately 38,000 square feet, the Beverly Hills residence underwent extensive renovation before being purchased by the couple. Its features include a boxing ring, sports lounge, fully equipped gym, basketball and pickleball courts, a bar area, a 12-car garage, a guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house, and a two-bedroom guardhouse.

Despite its impressive amenities, the property has struggled to attract buyers at the desired price point. A previous listing described it as being finished with “the highest level of quality,” yet even premium branding has not been enough to overcome market resistance.

Lopez and Affleck originally explored selling the home privately before making the listing public. However, as time passed without offers, they shifted strategies, repeatedly adjusting the price in hopes of generating interest.

In September 2024, the estate was again placed on the market, this time at around $52 million. By mid-2025, further reductions reflected continued difficulty in securing a buyer, eventually leading to the current sub-$50 million asking price.

Affleck moved out of the Beverly Hills residence in July 2024, one month before Lopez officially filed for divorce. His departure marked a clear physical separation, even as financial and legal ties remained temporarily unresolved.

The couple’s attempt to sell the property became increasingly symbolic of their broader relationship arc. Purchased in cash for $60.8 million during their marriage in May 2023, the home was initially seen as a shared investment in their renewed partnership. Instead, it has become a reminder of how quickly that chapter closed.

By mid-2025, insiders suggested that Affleck’s motivation to finalize the sale extended beyond financial considerations. One source noted that he “really just wants this to be sold so that he can cut the final cord that keeps him and Jennifer intertwined,” emphasizing the emotional dimension behind the transaction.

The evolution of the property’s listing mirrors the broader timeline of Lopez and Affleck’s relationship, which has spanned decades of public attention. First linked in the early 2000s, the pair became one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples before calling off their engagement in 2004.

Both went on to pursue separate marriages and families in the following years, with Lopez continuing to build her career as a global entertainer and entrepreneur, and Affleck solidifying his reputation as an actor, director, and producer.

Their unexpected reunion nearly two decades later was widely covered, culminating in their marriage in 2022. At the time, the union was framed as a second chance at a long-delayed love story, capturing significant public interest and media attention.

However, the pressures of fame, work commitments, and differing lifestyles eventually resurfaced. Despite appearances of stability, reports suggested growing distance between the couple throughout 2024, leading to their separation and eventual divorce proceedings.

Lopez’s career during this period remained highly active. As a singer, actress, and businesswoman, she continued to balance film projects, music ventures, and brand partnerships. Her ability to maintain visibility across multiple industries has long been a defining feature of her career.

Affleck, meanwhile, continued working in film both in front of and behind the camera. His projects as a director and producer have earned critical recognition, reinforcing his position as a key figure in contemporary Hollywood storytelling.

Despite their individual successes, the shared property became a lingering point of connection after their separation. Real estate, particularly at this scale, often becomes more than a financial asset for high-profile couples—it also carries symbolic weight, representing shared plans that no longer exist.

The Beverly Hills estate, with its vast amenities and customized design, was originally intended as a long-term family home. Instead, it now stands as a transitional asset, awaiting final resolution as part of their divorce settlement.

As the listing enters its third iteration, industry observers note that the outcome will likely depend on broader market conditions as well as buyer interest in luxury properties of this magnitude. High-end real estate often requires significant patience, even for celebrity-linked estates.

For Lopez, the decision to accept a reduced price reflects a pragmatic approach to closing this chapter. While the financial loss is notable, it also allows her to fully detach from a period of her life that, despite its emotional significance, has clearly ended.

The property’s journey from dream home to lingering asset underscores the complexities of celebrity relationships when intertwined with large-scale financial commitments. In this case, the house has become both a physical and symbolic extension of a relationship that once captured global attention.

As the sale process continues, both Lopez and Affleck appear focused on moving forward separately. Their careers remain active, their public profiles strong, and their individual paths increasingly distinct.

Yet the mansion remains a final shared link between them—a structure built during a renewed chapter of love, now gradually being dismantled through market negotiation. Its eventual sale will likely mark the definitive closing of their brief second marriage, both financially and symbolically.
