Jelly Roll’s Ex-Girlfriend Pleads Guilty in Shocking Drug Case, Reviving Painful Family Memories

Felicia Beckwith, the former girlfriend of country music star Jelly Roll, has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge following her drug-related arrest earlier in 2025. According to court records from Washington County, Tennessee, Beckwith officially entered a guilty plea on June 18 to possession of less than 0.5 grams of fentanyl, a Schedule II controlled substance. All remaining charges were dismissed, and the court sentenced her to three years of supervised probation.

Beckwith, 37, is best known as the mother of Jelly Roll’s 18-year-old daughter, Bailee. In February 2025, she was arrested alongside two other individuals in a case involving drugs, firearms, and cash. According to a statement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on the group. During the search, officers discovered a handgun in the driver’s side door, along with drug paraphernalia and a significant amount of cash.

Authorities reported seizing a total of 52 grams of methamphetamine, multiple unidentified pills, and approximately 12 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be fentanyl. Investigators alleged that Beckwith was found in possession of a bag containing portions of the methamphetamine, fentanyl, and pills recovered from the vehicle.

The investigation later expanded when law enforcement obtained a search warrant for a residence believed to be connected to one of the other occupants in the vehicle. At the property, officers discovered an additional 291 grams of methamphetamine, more than 16 grams of a substance believed to be either methamphetamine or fentanyl, and seven digital scales commonly associated with drug distribution. Three loaded handguns were also recovered, including one with its serial number removed.

Following the arrests, Beckwith and the two other suspects were transported to the Washington County Detention Center. She initially faced several serious charges, including manufacturing, delivering, selling, or possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Schedule II drug violations, two counts of simple possession, and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia. However, the legal proceedings ultimately resulted in a plea agreement that significantly reduced her potential criminal liability.

The arrest once again placed Felicia Beckwith in the spotlight, largely because of her long-standing connection to Jelly Roll. Before becoming one of America’s most recognizable country music stars, Jelly Roll endured a turbulent youth marked by addiction, legal troubles, and incarceration. During that period, he and Beckwith were involved in a long-term relationship. Both struggled with substance abuse and spent time behind bars.

Bailee was born under extraordinary circumstances while Jelly Roll was still incarcerated. The arrival of his daughter is widely regarded as the defining turning point in the singer’s life. In a 2023 interview with Billboard, he reflected on the moment, saying, “I’ve never had nothing in life that urged me in the moment to know that I had to do something different. I have to figure this out right now.” For Jelly Roll, becoming a father provided the motivation to leave his old lifestyle behind and rebuild his future.

Even so, his path to fatherhood was far from easy. For years, he fought legal battles to play a larger role in his daughter’s life. The documentary Jelly Roll: Save Me shed light on the challenges he faced while seeking custody of Bailee. The singer acknowledged that his relationship with Beckwith had become deeply strained during that period.

“She made me go to court to even see my daughter,” he recalled. “I barely got to see her in the early years because I was traveling so much. I was a very less-than-present father.”

After years of conflict, a major turning point came in 2017 when Jelly Roll and his future wife, Bunnie Xo, were granted custody of Bailee. Since then, the teenager has largely been raised by her father and stepmother. In recent interviews, Jelly Roll has spoken proudly about his daughter’s achievements. Bailee has since graduated from high school and frequently accompanies her father to important events throughout his career.

Beckwith’s legal troubles have also reignited conversations about the impact of addiction on families. Over the years, Jelly Roll has openly discussed the emotional toll that his daughter experienced while watching her biological mother struggle with substance abuse. The singer has repeatedly emphasized his efforts to help Bailee understand that addiction is a complex disease while providing her with the most stable environment possible.

These painful personal experiences have become a defining source of inspiration for Jelly Roll’s music. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1984, he began his career in underground rap before gradually transitioning into country and country-rock. For many years, he remained on the fringes of mainstream success. Yet songs centered on addiction, incarceration, redemption, and personal growth helped him cultivate a fiercely loyal fan base.

His breakthrough arrived with the album Whitsitt Chapel and, in particular, the hit single Son of a Sinner. The song quickly became a major success on country music charts, transforming Jelly Roll from an independent artist into a nationally recognized star. Commercial success soon followed, bringing multiple industry awards and widespread critical acclaim. His life story has often been cited by American media as a rare example of successful rehabilitation and redemption after a troubled past.

Beyond his career, Jelly Roll’s personal life has remained a topic of public interest. Following his relationship with Beckwith, he built a new life alongside Bunnie Xo, the popular podcast host and content creator. Over the years, Bunnie Xo has been widely viewed as a stabilizing force in both his personal and professional life. She also played a significant role in helping raise Bailee, fostering a close bond between stepmother and stepdaughter.

Although they frequently appeared to be a united family in the public eye, Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have not been immune to pressure. The couple has faced rumors, media scrutiny, and challenges stemming from the singer’s complicated past. Nevertheless, they have often chosen to address those struggles openly rather than avoid them, a decision that has earned them considerable support from fans.

Against that backdrop, the latest developments involving Felicia Beckwith serve as another reminder of the turbulent chapter that preceded Jelly Roll’s rise to success. For Beckwith, the three-year probation sentence may represent an opportunity to avoid more serious legal consequences and work toward rebuilding stability in her life. For Jelly Roll and his daughter Bailee, meanwhile, the case underscores the lasting effects of addiction, even years after they began striving to create a different future.
