Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley spend £25 million building a shocking “forever mansion” next to a nudist beach.

For years, Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have carefully balanced the glare of Hollywood fame with an increasingly private family life. Now, the couple appear ready to take that retreat one step further with the construction of a sprawling £25million “forever home” on England’s South Coast — a striking modernist property that comes with an unexpected detail: it sits beside one of the country’s best-known naturist beaches.

The waterfront estate, currently under construction, reflects the couple’s long-term vision of leaving behind the intensity of Los Angeles and embracing a quieter existence in the English countryside. Yet while the secluded location offers privacy, the surrounding coastline is also famous for attracting naturists, creating a curious contrast between celebrity exclusivity and one of Britain’s most openly unconventional beach communities.

The new property is being built in an imposing brutalist architectural style and stretches across a vast coastal plot overlooking the sea. Plans for the residence include five bedrooms, a central courtyard, a private beach, an indoor lap pool, a professional-grade gym and extensive outdoor facilities for the couple’s children, Jack and Isabella. One particularly ambitious feature is a 42,000-square-foot boating lake and wild swimming pond designed to blend into the surrounding landscape.

A separate building behind the main house will reportedly contain horse stables, allowing Huntington-Whiteley to reconnect with one of the passions that defined her upbringing in rural Devon. The model has spoken openly in recent months about her desire to return to a slower, more grounded lifestyle after spending decades moving between London, New York and Los Angeles.

The site itself was purchased for around £20million in January 2024, according to Land Registry records, with a further £5million expected to be invested into completing the build. Originally designed by an architect trusted by members of the British royal family, the house was later reimagined into a more minimalist, contemporary residence better suited to Statham’s personal taste for clean lines and understated luxury.

Although the structure embraces a modern aesthetic, traditional materials such as clay brick, cedar shingles, oak and lead have reportedly been incorporated throughout the design. The sprawling U-shaped home is organised around a strict geometric grid, with a square courtyard at its centre and a long lap pool completing the fourth side of the layout.

The location itself appears almost cinematic in its isolation. The property enjoys direct access to a 1,200-foot private stretch of coastline, while nearby marshlands and nature reserves attract birdwatchers, hikers and dog walkers throughout the year. At low tide, locals describe the area as almost eerily quiet, broken only by the sound of seabirds and the occasional speedboat in the distance. Wild horses from a nearby national park are often seen roaming freely along the shoreline.

Yet what has attracted particular attention is the beach’s long-standing connection to naturism. Not far from the couple’s estate lies a well-known naturist area frequented by nudists during warmer months. Though neither Statham nor Huntington-Whiteley have publicly addressed the detail, the irony has not gone unnoticed given both stars’ own comfort with nudity throughout their careers — whether in fashion editorials, advertising campaigns or film scenes.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley recently reinforced her status as one of Britain’s enduring supermodels during an appearance at the Met Gala in New York, where she wore a dramatic off-the-shoulder gown that generated widespread attention online. Over the years, her modelling career has included campaigns for major fashion houses and brands including Burberry, Victoria's Secret and Marks & Spencer.

Despite her glamorous public image, Huntington-Whiteley has increasingly spoken about her longing for a more rustic existence. In a recent interview with Australian Vogue, she revealed that the move was part of a broader personal shift toward country living near the New Forest.

“There's an incredible dressage school around the corner,” she explained while discussing the area. Riding had once been central to her childhood, but years spent in major cities had made maintaining the hobby nearly impossible. “I've been dreaming of this since I left home,” she said. “It will be mud and kids climbing trees. London at the weekends can feel very destination-driven. I want peace.”

That desire for simplicity appears deeply connected to her upbringing. Huntington-Whiteley grew up in Devon in what she described as a “rustic, outdoorsy, wild, simple” environment. “Home was a cottage on a couple of hectares with animals everywhere,” she recalled. Her memories of childhood are far removed from the ultra-polished world she later entered as a teenager pursuing fashion.

“There was tack being cleaned in the back kitchen, usually some animals — a bird Mum was trying to bring back to life,” she said of her family home. Her parents, who still live there, embodied what she called a “bucolic life — very bohemian.” Her mother worked as a fitness instructor before later taking a job in a jewellery shop, while her father worked as a chartered surveyor.

Unlike many modern celebrity narratives shaped by instant fame, Huntington-Whiteley has often emphasised the discipline and self-sufficiency instilled during her upbringing. “We lived within our means; we had enough,” she said, recalling how her pocket money began at £10 a month and only increased slightly each year. Chores were non-negotiable. “Mucking out the horse every day, school uniforms ironed by me,” she explained, adding that she often cooked for her siblings after school. “It instilled self-sufficiency.”

At the age of 14, she took weekend jobs as a housekeeper at a local bed-and-breakfast and later as a waitress. Fashion, however, remained her obsession. “All my girlfriends had posters of boys,” she remembered. “I had fashion photography.” At a time before social media provided behind-the-scenes access to the industry, she described modelling as “just a dream” viewed from the isolation of her bedroom walls covered in magazine editorials.

Her eventual rise within the fashion industry was rapid. After being discovered as a teenager, she became one of the defining faces of British modelling in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Her transition into acting followed with roles in Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Mad Max: Fury Road, though she ultimately appeared more comfortable maintaining a presence in fashion rather than aggressively pursuing Hollywood stardom.

Her relationship with Jason Statham began in 2010, and despite a 20-year age gap, the pair quickly became one of the entertainment industry’s more durable couples. Unlike many celebrity relationships constantly exposed online, Statham and Huntington-Whiteley have maintained a notably guarded private life. They became engaged in 2016 but have never appeared particularly concerned with public pressure surrounding marriage timelines.

In interviews, Huntington-Whiteley has repeatedly described their relationship as rooted in friendship, humour and mutual respect rather than spectacle. Statham, known for his reserved personality, has largely avoided the celebrity social circuit outside occasional red carpet appearances alongside his fiancée.

By the time they met, Statham had already established himself as one of Britain’s most commercially successful action stars. A former competitive diver for England before entering modelling and later acting, he became closely associated with director Guy Ritchie after breakout performances in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. His combination of dry humour, physicality and understated charisma helped him carve out a unique space within Hollywood’s action genre.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Statham became the face of franchises such as The Transporter, The Expendables and later the Fast & Furious universe, where his role as Deckard Shaw revitalised his international profile. Unlike many modern action stars reliant on superhero franchises, Statham maintained a more traditional tough-guy persona rooted in practical stunts and old-school action choreography.

His career has also remained remarkably free from major scandal. While tabloids occasionally focused on his high-profile romances before Huntington-Whiteley — including relationships with model Kelly Brook and singer Sophie Monk — Statham largely avoided the personal controversies that often follow Hollywood fame. Industry colleagues have frequently described him as disciplined, punctual and intensely private.

The same discretion has characterised the couple’s family life. Since welcoming their son Jack in 2017 and daughter Isabella in 2022, Huntington-Whiteley has spoken candidly about the complexities of raising children in an environment shaped by privilege and social media.

“When my son says, ‘I want new trainers’ and I say no, he's like, ‘But why?’” she admitted in a recent interview. She contrasted modern parenting with her own childhood, recalling how her mother’s answer was often final. “Life's not going to hand you things on a silver platter,” her mother used to tell her.

That awareness of privilege appears central to the couple’s recent lifestyle choices. In recent years, they gradually distanced themselves from California, selling their £15million Malibu beach house while spending more time in London. Their £7.5million townhouse in Chelsea remains one of their primary bases, but the South Coast estate now appears positioned to become the true centre of family life.

Locals have already reportedly spotted Statham walking dogs along the nearby beach with longtime friend and former co-star Vinnie Jones. One resident described the surreal moment of unexpectedly seeing the two men together on the otherwise quiet coastline. “It was very surreal,” the local said. “All of a sudden, walking past me was Vinnie Jones, Jason Statham and a couple of dogs.”

Not everyone nearby appears entirely pleased with the scale of the construction, however. Residents living further inland have reportedly complained about heavy construction traffic passing through otherwise quiet roads. Signs reading “NO CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC” have even appeared outside some neighbouring properties, while parking areas intended for public beach visitors were temporarily occupied by work vehicles associated with the project.

Still, the broader vision behind the estate reflects a growing trend among wealthy public figures seeking retreat from urban celebrity culture. Rather than building another glossy Hollywood mansion, Statham and Huntington-Whiteley seem intent on creating an insulated family environment rooted in nature, privacy and slower rhythms of life.

The juxtaposition is striking: one of Britain’s most recognisable action stars and one of fashion’s most polished faces choosing to settle beside windswept marshland, wild horses and a naturist beach. Yet in many ways, the move feels consistent with the trajectory both have quietly followed over the past decade — stepping away from relentless public exposure while preserving carefully controlled careers.

Whether the couple fully anticipated their proximity to a naturist haven remains unclear. But for two figures who have spent years navigating fame, fashion and film under intense scrutiny, the eccentricity of the location may ultimately matter far less than the peace they appear determined to find there.
