Elliot Page drew attention as he walked the red carpet alongside his girlfriend, Julia Shiplett, at the New York premiere of The Odyssey at AMC Lincoln Square Theater. The appearance marked one of the couple’s rare public outings together since confirming their relationship and reflected a new chapter in the actor’s personal life after years of keeping it largely private.

For the occasion, Elliot opted for a classic black suit paired with a striped shirt, while Julia wore an elegant floor-length brown gown featuring a plunging cowl neckline and a figure-hugging silhouette. The pair smiled, held hands, and posed together for photographers, showcasing their affection during one of their few joint red carpet appearances.

Julia’s appearance also capped off The Odyssey‘s promotional tour, throughout which she quietly supported her boyfriend. Just days earlier, she attended the film’s London premiere but chose not to walk the red carpet. After watching the movie, she shared her signature humorous take on Instagram, writing: “Saw this charming little indie called The Odyssey (maybe based off a book?? not sure) really loved it, you guys should try to find it if you can.”

Elliot Page and Julia Shiplett made their relationship public in late June 2025 when the actor shared a selfie of the two celebrating Pride Month. Since then, they have largely kept their romance out of the spotlight, making only a handful of public appearances together.

The couple officially made their red carpet debut in September 2025 at Gucci’s premiere of the short film The Tiger during Milan Fashion Week. Shortly beforehand, they had also been spotted backstage at the Broadway premiere of Julio Torres’ Color Theories, fueling speculation about their relationship.

On Elliot’s 39th birthday earlier this year, Julia shared a series of candid photos of her boyfriend along with a heartfelt tribute. She wrote, “Happy birthday E baby!!” before adding, “How lucky I am to have such a sweet, patient, supportive boo thang who always wants to order fries. You’ve cracked my lil crone heart open and celebrating you is a breeze.”

For Elliot, Julia is also his first publicly known relationship since coming out as transgender and non-binary in December 2020. In the years since, the actor has remained notably private about his personal life and has rarely discussed his romantic relationships publicly.

Julia Shiplett is an American actress, writer, and comedian. She first gained widespread recognition on social media in 2021 through her parody of Miya Ponsetto in connection with the widely discussed “SoHo Karen” incident. Her satirical comedic style quickly helped her build a significant online following.

Before rising to prominence online, Julia appeared in an episode of Crashing in 2018, voiced a role in American Dad!, and appeared in the miniseries Ad World. She later landed a recurring role in the comedy series Overcompensating, which has already been renewed for a second season.

Speaking with Vulture, Julia reflected on how embracing what she calls “hot-girl comedy” changed her perspective as a performer. She explained: “For years, I thought if I dressed as plainly and asexually as possible, people wouldn’t have a preconceived notion of me or my material and would take me more seriously as a comedian.”

She continued: “But if hot-girl comedy has proven anything, it’s that you can be very funny while also being sexy and stylish. Now, I think wearing something fun and special onstage is a sign of showmanship – it shows you made an effort for your audience.” According to Julia, putting thought into one’s appearance doesn’t diminish a comedian’s credibility; instead, it demonstrates respect for the audience.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1987, Elliot Page began acting at a young age. He rose to international fame with his leading role in Juno (2007), a critical and commercial success that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress under his former name, Ellen Page.

Following the success of Juno, Elliot went on to star in several major productions, including Christopher Nolan’s Inception, the X-Men franchise as Kitty Pryde, Hard Candy, Tallulah, and Netflix’s hit series The Umbrella Academy. His versatility has helped him remain one of Hollywood’s most respected performers for nearly two decades.

In December 2020, Elliot publicly came out as transgender and announced that his name was Elliot Page. In an open letter to fans, he expressed gratitude for finally being able to live authentically while thanking those who had supported him. His announcement drew worldwide attention and was met with widespread support from colleagues across the entertainment industry.

Since coming out, Elliot has become an outspoken advocate for transgender rights. He has repeatedly spoken against discrimination and has participated in numerous campaigns and international forums, sharing his personal experiences while promoting greater equality and inclusion.

In his personal life, Elliot was previously married to dancer and choreographer Emma Portner. The couple married in 2018 before announcing in early 2021 that they had filed for divorce, emphasizing that the decision was made mutually and with respect. Even after finalizing their separation, they continued to speak positively of one another.

Throughout his career, Elliot has largely avoided major personal controversies. Instead, he has become a prominent voice in conversations surrounding human rights, gender equality, and diversity in the entertainment industry. His memoir, Pageboy, published in 2023, chronicled his journey of self-discovery and quickly became one of the year’s most widely discussed books.

Against that backdrop, Elliot and Julia’s appearance together at The Odyssey premiere represented more than just another glamorous red carpet moment. It also reflected a more settled chapter in Elliot Page’s personal life. After years devoted to his career, advocacy work, and living authentically, the actor now appears comfortable sharing his happiness—carefully but openly—as he continues building both his professional and personal future alongside Julia Shiplett.
