The actor, who has faced previous allegations of cannibalistic fantasies, said it was a "tradition."
Armie Hammer is revealing how he ate part of an animal’s heart once on a hunting trip.
The disgraced actor, who has faced previous allegations of cannibalistic fantasies, was recently asked on The Louis Theroux Podcast if it’s true that he “cut the heart out of the animal and ate it while still warm?”

“No, you don’t eat the whole heart. One of the traditions is you take a bite out of the heart,” Hammer explained to host Louis Theroux of the hunting tradition. “You’ve got all your buddies around you, they’re goading you on.”
The Call Me by Your Name actor continued, “It’s sort of like an almost overly charged male rite of passage when you go hunting for the first time. Everyone that I know who went hunting for their first time had to do something similar.”
He also clarified that the tradition was “not for the purpose of any cannibalism or any sexual gratification.”
In 2021, snippets of sexually charged text messages Hammer had sent to various women surfaced, which included dark sexual fantasies and a reference to cannibalism. Later that year, a woman accused him of raping her in 2017, and two other women came forward, accusing the actor of emotionally abusing them. The allegations were also detailed in the Discovery+ docuseries House of Hammer.
Hammer has previously said all the relationships were consensual sadomasochistic arrangements but admitted that he was emotionally abusive to the women. The Los Angeles County district attorney did conduct an investigation but declined to indict Hammer in 2023, citing insufficient evidence.
During his interview with Theroux, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. actor also addressed the 2021 allegations, saying, “You know what you have to do to actually be a cannibal? You have to actually eat human flesh. So no.”

“Sometimes when you’re involved with a person and you’re dating and you guys are having sex and you are a bit of a provocateur … it’s fun to ruffle feathers, and it’s fun to push the envelope little by little,” Hammer added. “Did I ever have any intention of cutting anything off of anyone or eating anything off of anyone? No. That was never really anything that I wanted. Was it fun to joke about if I was stoned or drunk or like laughing as I was typing these messages? Sure.”
Armie Hammer has repeatedly posted about his love of meat online, with his social media packed full of images of raw meat, pigs' heads and knives, it has been revealed - days after leaked messages said to be from the star show him claiming to be '100 percent a cannibal'.
The 34-year-old's Instagram shows several photos of meat both raw and on the grill including one snap of barbecuing meat where he writes: 'Have you ever seen anything sexier?'
In another post he shared a photo of a pig's head alongside the caption: 'He's smiling.'
A source told Page Six the Hollywood star 'loves grilling' and would often host barbecues for friends but that the rumors of his alleged cannibalistic fetishes have come as a shock.
Sources also said his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers knew nothing of the 'weird s**t' he did and that people thought they were in an 'open marriage' because of the way he would 'run around' with other women.
'He always appeared so totally normal, he loves grilling, I mean - he was so excited about buying a new smoker and he would have friends over for barbecues and cocktails.'

The source said they wondered if Hammer's recent behavior was connected to substance abuse.
'None of this seems like the Armie that I know. He needs help. Something is terribly wrong, and I just wonder if it's drugs,' they said.
Earlier this week, Hammer's ex-girlfriend Courtney Vucekovich told DailyMail.com that Hammer was into 'master-slave fetishes' and told her he wanted to break and eat her ribs.
She said Hammer quickly manipulated her into playing along with his twisted fetishes, and that he would often fantasize about cannibalism.
This came days after the Instagram account House of Effie shared messages said to be from Hammer where he told her he wished to 'cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession' and described himself as '100 percent a cannibal.'
Meanwhile, Hammer's estranged wife is in 'complete shock' and 'sickened' over the recent claims and messages alleged to be sent by Hammer that discuss rape and cannibalism.
A friend told DailyMail.com this week: 'Armie had a whole other side to him that she wasn't aware of.
'Whether it was always there and he kept it hidden, or something happened that changed him completely, she doesn't know.'
A friend of Chambers told Page Six she was aware of some of his cheating but had no idea about the alleged fetishes.
'[The messages] are very shocking for her. He never did any of the weird s**t with her,' they said.
'Elizabeth was aware of some infidelity, but she wanted to make the marriage work and thought that he did too.'
A major Hollywood publicist told Page Six people assumed Hammer was in an open relationship with his wife because of how he acted after he shot to fame in Call Me By Your Name.
'Women were texting him, chasing him - and when he would drink, that's when he'd run around. Everyone thought he and Elizabeth decided to have an open marriage,' the source said.
Chambers' friend added that Chambers has 'basically been a single mom' for several months ever since Hammer left the family in the Cayman Islands in June to head back to California.
'Armie didn't see the kids for five months. The kids are her number one priority, so on top of all the emotional stuff she has two kids to take to school and make sure they're not affected,' the friend said.
On Friday, the Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee released a statement, denying that the woman featured in Hammer's video is affiliated with the pageant in any way.
'The Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee is aware of a video allegedly posted by Armie Hammer referring to a scantily clad young woman as 'Miss Cayman,' the statement read.
'The Committee is very disturbed by the video and would like to confirm that the woman is not the reigning Miss Cayman Islands and has no affiliation to the Miss Cayman Islands Universe pageant.'
The Committee said it had reported the video to the police and demanded Hammer remove all references to the pageant from his social media channels.
'The Committee and the reigning Miss Cayman regard this issue with the utmost seriousness and the matter has been reported to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS),' it read.
'The role of Miss Cayman is in part, to serve as a role model to young Caymanian women.
'The depiction of the woman in the video goes against all that our organisation stands for and the Committee is consequently requesting that Mr. Hammer immediately remove all references to Miss Cayman from his social media channels.'

The committee issued the statement after DailyMail.com released a video from Hammer's secret Instagram account where he bragged to his inner circle about a lingerie-clad woman waiting for him in his bed.
In the footage, he also smugly posted about taking a hallucinogenic drug that goes undetected in drug tests in leaked videos from his private Instagram account.
The footage on the account, followed by his close friends, included a snippet of himself taking a drag from a vape box on December 16, writing: 'When you realize they don't test for DMT on drug tests.'
He also shared a screenshot of what appears to be a court order that states he must take a drug test, as source revealed he is required to pass it before seeing his two young children with his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers, 38.
The couple announced in July they were ending their 10-year marriage and the children have been living with Chambers in the Cayman Islands.
Hammer documented taking his home drug test, writing: 'All negative, b***hes. My body is a finely tuned toxicant processing unit. To be fair I had THC and benzos in my piss. But who doesn't.' He added: 'Divorce is so fun. Not as fun as drugs. But what is.'
But the actor seemingly found a perk of traveling to Grand Cayman to see his children, aged six and three, posting a video of a woman dressed in strappy black lingerie waiting patiently on his bed on all fours, her rear end appearing to be bright pink as she looked straight ahead.
He wrote: 'Well… my ex (for a very good reason) wife is refusing to come back to america with my children. So I have to go back to Cayman… which sucks. Except there are a few silver linings. Like f**king Ms. Cayman again while I'm down there.'
Hammer is currently in Grand Cayman, where he recently posted a photo poolside enjoying a Red Stripe beer, writing: 'Some days require a drink. Others demand them.'

A few hours later, he confirmed he was stepping away from his latest movie role and addressed leaked messages alleged to be from him discussing cannibalism and BDSM, saying they were 'bulls**t claims'.
His rep declined to comment on the videos posted to his private Instagram account.
Meanwhile, his ex Vucekovich said she did not want to get into graphic detail about Hammer's behavior during their relationship, she said it was enough that she checked into a 30-day intensive course of therapy for trauma and PTSD to deal with the 'warped relationship' with the movie star after their breakup in early October.
