Kylian Mbappé Charity Work: The Quiet Habit Behind One of Football’s Biggest Stars

Kylian Mbappé is celebrated around the world for his speed, goals and trophy-winning performances, but another side of the France captain often receives far less attention. Long before becoming one of football’s biggest global icons, Mbappé had already established a pattern of quietly supporting charitable causes, consistently using his success to help others rather than seeking publicity.
Donating His France Match Earnings

Mbappé's charitable commitment dates back to the early years of his international career. Since 2017, he has supported Premiers de Cordée, a French charity that promotes sport for children in hospitals and youngsters living with disabilities.
One of his most widely reported acts came after France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Rather than keeping his tournament earnings, estimated at around €350,000, Mbappé donated the entire amount to Premiers de Cordée. At just 19 years old, the gesture demonstrated that representing France meant more to him than personal financial reward.
Instead of becoming a one-off act of generosity, it established a pattern that has continued throughout his career.
Supporting Communities Beyond Football
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mbappé extended his charitable efforts by supporting the Abbé Pierre Foundation, an organisation that assists vulnerable families and people facing housing difficulties in France.
His work has also included support for individual medical cases. Through initiatives connected to his charitable network, assistance was provided for Abubakr, a young child from Mauritania whose life-saving medical treatment received support through the organisation linked to Mbappé's foundation.
These actions have largely taken place without major publicity campaigns, reinforcing the image of philanthropy becoming part of his routine rather than isolated headline-making moments.
The Creation of Inspired by KM

In 2020, Mbappé formalised his long-term commitment by launching Inspired by KM, a foundation designed to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The programme focuses on 98 children from the Paris region, a symbolic number reflecting Mbappé's birth year, 1998. Rather than providing only financial assistance, the initiative aims to create long-term opportunities through education, culture, sport and professional development.
The foundation reflects Mbappé's belief that lasting support comes from opening doors and creating opportunities rather than simply making donations.
Building a Legacy Beyond the Pitch
On the field, Kylian Mbappé continues to build one of the most impressive careers of his generation as a World Cup winner, France international and Real Madrid forward.
Off the field, however, his charitable work reveals another dimension of his legacy. Rather than relying on occasional high-profile donations, Mbappé has developed a consistent approach to giving back, supporting organisations, communities and young people throughout his career.
While his goals and trophies will always define his football achievements, his ongoing commitment to philanthropy suggests that his influence may ultimately extend far beyond the game itself.
