After spending years working behind the scenes of the British royal family, two of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ closest former staff members have embarked on a new chapter in their personal lives.
According to newly revealed reports, Lieutenant Commander Rob Dixon, Prince William’s former equerry, is now in a relationship with Natasha Archer, Princess Kate’s longtime personal assistant and trusted style adviser. Their romance is believed to have blossomed after both stepped away from their positions at Kensington Palace.

The pair have recently begun attending public events together. Last week, they were seen as a couple at the launch of RH’s new flagship furniture store in London’s Mayfair district, where they mingled with high-profile guests, including actress Margot Robbie. The appearance marked one of the first times they have been photographed together socially.
The relationship comes after the breakdown of Natasha Archer’s marriage to royal photographer Chris Jackson. News of their separation emerged last year after years together and two sons.
A friend of Jackson previously described the end of the marriage as a profound shock for the photographer, saying: “He was devastated and didn’t see it coming.”
Natasha Archer and Chris Jackson married in 2017 and were widely regarded as one of the more private couples within royal circles. Throughout their marriage, Jackson became one of the most recognizable royal photographers, documenting many of the British royal family’s most significant milestones.
He earned the trust of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who personally selected him to photograph their official portraits during their 20th wedding anniversary celebration in Italy last year.

When Natasha Archer announced her departure from Kensington Palace after 15 years of service, royal observers noted that Princess Kate would be losing one of her most invaluable aides. Just two months later, reports surfaced confirming that Archer and Jackson had separated. A friend told reporters: “They haven’t been together for some time.”
Following her departure from the Royal Household, Archer launched her own fashion consultancy, marking a significant new direction after spending more than a decade helping shape the public image of the Princess of Wales.
Natasha first joined Kate’s household in 2010 as a personal assistant. Over the years, she became one of the princess’s most trusted confidantes, accompanying her on overseas tours, official engagements and countless public appearances.
Beyond managing day-to-day logistics, Archer has long been credited with transforming Catherine’s style into the polished yet approachable image that has made the Princess of Wales one of the world’s most influential fashion figures. Many royal commentators believe her guidance played a key role in establishing Kate’s reputation as a modern royal style icon.
Her contributions were formally recognized in 2019 when she was appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian Orderfor services to the Royal Family. Three years later, she was promoted to the role of Senior Private Executive Assistant.
Rob Dixon, meanwhile, was appointed as Prince William’s equerry in 2020. As an equerry, he was responsible for supporting the heir to the throne during official engagements, coordinating royal duties and accompanying him on important domestic and overseas visits.
When announcing his departure from Kensington Palace in 2024 after four years of service, Dixon shared an emotional message reflecting on his experience.
He wrote: “I’ve had the most incredible opportunity to serve in a role that not only challenged me, but allowed me to grow, to learn and to make meaningful contributions alongside a talented and passionate team.”
In the same statement, Dixon acknowledged that leaving had not been an easy decision but felt it was time for a new chapter. He described it as “time to move on” and added: “I am immensely grateful for the friendships formed during these last four years.” He also concluded that stepping away had been “the right thing to do.”
After leaving the Royal Household, Dixon returned to the Royal Navy before accepting a position as an adviser at the UK Ministry of Defence earlier this year. Rather than remaining within royal service, he chose to continue building his career in defence and public service.
Within the British monarchy, an equerry is typically a senior military officer selected from the Armed Forces to assist members of the Royal Family with their official duties. The role demands exceptional discretion, discipline and organizational skills, meaning those who hold the position rarely attract public attention or speak about their personal lives.

Notably, both Dixon and Archer spent years working alongside Prince William and Princess Kate during some of the most significant periods of their royal lives, supporting everything from overseas tours to major state occasions. Although they served different roles, both became integral members of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ trusted inner circle.
Neither Rob Dixon nor Natasha Archer has commented publicly on their relationship. Even so, their recent appearances together have quickly attracted widespread media attention, with many royal watchers taking an interest in the unexpected romance between two former palace insiders whose professional lives were once devoted to supporting the future King and Queen.
