US pop star Katy Perry is being investigated by Victoria Police after actor Ruby Rose alleged the California Gurls singer sexually assaulted her at Melbourne CBD nightclub Spice Market in 2010.

Detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation team confirmed to the Herald Sun they are “investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010”.

Rose alleges the California Gurls singer sexually assaulted her while they were out together at Melbourne CBD nightclub Spice Market in 2010.

“Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD.

As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage,” a Victoria Police spokesman told the Herald Sun.

A Spice Market owner confirmed to the Herald Sun that both Rose and Perry had attended the venue on the night in question and “had way too much to drink.”

The Orange is the New Black star, who was born in Melbourne, confirmed to the Herald Sun on Tuesday she had taken the matter to police.

Rose said it’s taken her “almost two decades” to make the accusations public.

“As of this afternoon, I have finalised all my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved,” she posted.

“Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me,” she stated on social media.

This week Rose took to social media alleging the incident took place at former Melbourne CBD hotspot Spice Market almost two decades ago.

“Katy Perry sexual(ly) assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s--- what she thinks,” Rose wrote.

“I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly … I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it. Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret,” Rose stated in a series on Threads.

Unbothered by past drama and complicated relationships, Katy Perry, her boyfriend Justin Trudeau, and her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom all appeared under the same roof on Friday night — creating a quietly intriguing moment in celebrity circles.

The trio attended the Beef Season 2 Montecito Tastemaker event in California on April 10, a star-studded gathering hosted at the home of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife Nicole Avant. The guest list read like a who’s who of Hollywood and royalty, including Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Charles Melton, and Carey Mulligan.

Perry, 41, and Trudeau, 54, appeared notably close as they posed for photos alongside Sarandos and Avant, adding fuel to ongoing interest in their relationship. The singer exuded elegance in a white bouclé-style dress, while Trudeau kept things relaxed in dark denim, a khaki shirt, and a gray jacket — a contrast that only made the pairing more eye-catching.

Elsewhere at the event, Bloom, 49, also mingled with guests and posed for photos with the hosts. Dressed in a smart-casual all-black ensemble — a corduroy shirt paired with trousers — the actor kept a low profile. It remains unclear whether he and Perry interacted during the evening.

The encounter carries extra intrigue given the couple’s history. PEOPLE confirmed that Perry and Bloom ended their on-and-off nine-year relationship, including a six-year engagement, in July 2025. Their story began in 2016 with a now-famous playful argument over an In-N-Out burger at a Golden Globes afterparty, before they went public later that year following the Cannes Film Festival.

After a brief split in 2017, the two remained on friendly terms and eventually rekindled their romance in 2018. Bloom proposed in 2019, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020 — a chapter that once seemed to solidify their long-term future.

Perry’s new relationship with Trudeau, however, has since drawn significant attention. The pair were first spotted together in July 2025, before making their public debut as a couple on October 25 that year at a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris, where they celebrated Perry’s birthday.

Photos from that night showed them leaving hand-in-hand, smiling and relaxed — a moment that quickly went viral. Since then, they have continued to appear together at various high-profile events, most recently at Coachella following the Netflix-hosted gathering.

On April 12, Perry offered fans a more personal glimpse into their relationship, posting a series of affectionate moments on Instagram. One image showed the couple strolling hand-in-hand through the festival grounds, while another captured Trudeau casually eating noodles as Perry held a red solo cup.

She also shared a video of the two cuddling and swaying to “Speed Demon” by Justin Bieber during his performance, further cementing their public image as a couple enjoying life together.

Her 200 million followers were quick to react, flooding the comments with support. “So good to see u happy and enjoying life 🥺💫✨🫶,” one fan wrote. Another added, “The right kind of love has you both glowing and rejuvenated,” while a third simply declared: “Couple goals 😍🔥.”

Meanwhile, Bloom has also offered subtle insight into his outlook on relationships in recent months. In December 2025, during a casual street-style interview with The People Gallery on TikTok, he was asked whether he would prefer a partner with “style or funds.” With a laugh, he replied that he would want “both.”

Beyond humor, the actor also shared a more reflective message. Speaking about navigating difficult periods, he advised: “Take action, get up, routine, do whatever. Get into your body, get out of your head if you're in your head. Keep creating.”

In a landscape where personal lives often intersect in unexpected ways, Friday night’s event served as a reminder that even in Hollywood’s most curated spaces, past and present can quietly collide — sometimes without a single word being exchanged.
