GUNNER GO Arsenal ‘agree £17million Leandro Trossard transfer’ with Gunners set to cash in

BESIKTAS have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard.

Trossard, 31, who joined Arsenal in 2023, will leave the club for a total fee of £17.1million. According to The Athletic, the deal is made up of an initial £15.4m fee and £1.7m in add-ons.

The transfer is yet to be completed with personal terms reportedly still in the process of being finalised.

Trossard has just one year left on his Arsenal contract, so the Gunners might be satisfied with the fee they’ve managed to agree for the Belgian winger.

Considering they signed him for £20m rising to £27m from Brighton three years ago, it looks to be effective business by the North London club. The star is currently on international duty with Belgium, who dramatically beat Senegal in the last 32 on Wednesday, after pegging back Senegal’s 2-0 lead in the last five minutes of normal time.

After squabbling with team-mate Youri Tielemans, Trossard crossed in to the Villa man as he headed in the equaliser.

Tielemans’ 125th minute penalty during extra-time then sent Belgium through for a clash with hosts USA on Tuesday morning.

As well as his contributions for his country, Trossard played an important part in Arsenal’s title-winning campaign. As he did for Belgium on Wednesday, he turned up at a crucial stage for the Gunners, scoring an 83rd minute winner away at West Ham to maintain a five-point advantage over second-place Manchester City.

It has led to many Arsenal fans describing him as a “clutch” player, who turns up when it matters.

Mikel Arteta might have felt the same about the star – he has been a regular member of the Spaniard’s squad since joining Arsenal from Brighton in 2023.

The 2023-24 campaign was Trossard’s strongest in front of goal, as he scored 16 times across the Premier League and Champions League.

If personal terms are agreed, he will be seeking to make his mark in Turkey for Besiktas, who finished fourth in the Super Lig last season.

The Istanbul club started last season with former Manchester United player and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, before sacking him for former player Sergen Yalcin, who lasted until May. Vincenzo Italiano is now the gaffer.
