Former Real Madrid coach begins a new chapter in the Premier League
Fulham have officially named Álvaro Arbeloa as their new head coach, handing the former Real Madrid manager a three-year contract at Craven Cottage.
The 43-year-old replaces Marco Silva, who left the London club after the expiration of his contract to become Benfica's new head coach. Arbeloa arrives in west London after departing Real Madrid in May, where he was succeeded by José Mourinho following the Portuguese manager's return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Arbeloa excited for the Fulham challenge
Speaking after his appointment, Arbeloa expressed his excitement about taking charge of the Premier League club.
"It is a real honour for me to be embarking on this new stage at Fulham, the oldest club in London."
The Spaniard also thanked club owner Shahid Khan and vice-chairman Tony Khan for their confidence in him.
"I feel a great sense of responsibility and I'm deeply grateful to Mr Khan and Tony Khan for the trust they have placed in me with Fulham in the Premier League."
Arbeloa added that he is eager to begin work with the squad and experience the atmosphere at Craven Cottage.
"I am really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Craven Cottage with Fulham fans and beginning pre-season with the players next week. I am sure we are going to enjoy an incredible journey together."
A familiar face in English football
Although this will be Arbeloa's first managerial role in England, he is no stranger to the Premier League.
During his playing career, the former Spain international represented both Liverpool and West Ham United before returning to Spain, where he enjoyed tremendous success with Real Madrid, winning numerous domestic and international honours.
His familiarity with English football is expected to help him adapt quickly as he takes charge of Fulham.

A new era begins at Craven Cottage
Arbeloa inherits a Fulham side looking to build on the progress made under Marco Silva over recent seasons.
Pre-season preparations are set to begin next week, giving the new manager his first opportunity to work with the squad and implement his ideas ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Fulham supporters will now be eager to see whether Arbeloa can successfully transition from Spanish football to English management and guide the club to another competitive season in the top flight.
