One of the Premier League's most sought-after young midfielders could be at the center of a major transfer battle this summer. Alex Scott has reportedly rejected Bournemouth's latest contract offer, fueling speculation over his future as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United continue to monitor his situation.
According to Sky Sports, Bournemouth have made several attempts to tie the 22-year-old to a new long-term deal since talks began toward the end of last season. However, Scott has indicated that he is not prepared to sign fresh terms at this stage. Despite the setback, the Cherries remain determined to keep the England midfielder and have already rejected approaches from several Premier League giants.

Scott still has two years remaining on his current contract, leaving Bournemouth in a strong negotiating position. Club officials are reportedly confident that the midfielder will remain at the Vitality Stadium for the 2026/27 campaign, regardless of whether he signs an extension. The club has adopted a firm stance this summer, aiming to retain its top talent ahead of its historic European campaign under new head coach Marco Rose.
Interest in Scott comes after an outstanding Premier League season in which he established himself as one of England's brightest young midfielders. Renowned for his composure on the ball, dribbling ability and defensive work rate, the former Bristol City star narrowly missed out on Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad after impressing throughout the domestic season. Nicknamed the "Guernsey Grealish," Scott also showcased his attacking quality by scoring a memorable winner against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
With several high-profile midfield transfers already completed this summer, including moves involving Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Youri Tielemans, Scott has emerged as one of the next elite talents attracting serious attention. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all believed to view him as a long-term investment capable of becoming a cornerstone of their midfield.

Speaking recently, Bournemouth manager Marco Rose expressed confidence that Scott would remain with the club, insisting the midfielder understands that his development is best served by staying on the south coast for now. Rose also stressed that Bournemouth provides the perfect environment for young players to continue improving while competing in both domestic and European competitions.
Although Bournemouth remain optimistic, Scott's refusal to commit to a new contract ensures speculation will continue throughout the transfer window. With three of England's biggest clubs still keeping a close eye on his situation, his future could become one of the defining transfer stories of the summer.
